McHenry County College offers Spring Career Networking events for students

The Career Service Center at McHenry County College will host a series of two networking events for MCC students who are interested in landing jobs in health care, fitness, or business.

"Students have the opportunity to sit down and meet with employers in a more relaxed setting than at a traditional career fair," said Dan Ortego, career services coordinator. "Employers will have the opportunity to meet with students to discuss their company and employment opportunities."

The following networking sessions are available.

• Healthcare and Fitness networking: Students interested in health care or fitness careers are invited to meet employers from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the Scot Room. Participating employers include: A-TEC Ambulance, Inc., BrightStar Care of McHenry County and Barrington; Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Crossroads Care Center of Woodstock, Derick Dermatology, Hearthstone Communities, Northwestern Medicine, Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service Inc. and Visiting Angels.

• Business Networking: Students interested in business careers are invited to meet employers from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Scot Room. Participating employers include: Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Dunkin Donuts & Baskin Robbins, Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, Motor Werks, Paylocity, Sherwin-Williams Paint stores, Snap-on Tools, UniCarriers Americas Corporation and Working World Staffing Services.

Networking events are co-sponsored by MCC student organizations, including the Student Nurses Association, Student Occupational Therapy Assistant.

All networking sessions are free and open to all MCC students. No registration is needed. The Scot Room is in the back of the cafeteria in Building B at the college, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
