ChildServ raises more than $400,000 at gala benefiting children

Chicago, Ill. - November 14, 2018 - ChildServ, a nonprofit dedicated to building better lives for children, held its annual Founder's Day Gala at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago, on October 26. Nearly 600 supporters attended the event, raising $400,688 to benefit the 2,501 children and families in the organization's programs.

"We are grateful for the tremendous kindness and generosity of those who made our 2018 Founder's Day Gala the biggest, most successful event in agency history," said Dan Kotowski, President and CEO of ChildServ. "The funds raised ensure that we can successfully continue our mission to protect, heal and educate children and families so that they can build better lives."

ChildServ's Founder's Day Gala featured a program emceed by comedian and WGN Radio host Patti Vasquez that honored U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth for her outstanding career in public service; Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, LLP for its pro-bono legal efforts; and United Airlines for its volunteerism. The agency also debuted a new video highlighting the journey of Johnny Rivers, its Youth of the Year, from being homeless to becoming an empowered adult and recognized Tesheena Dantzler, a young mother in its early childhood learning program, as Parent of the Year for her commitment to her child's education and future success.
