Author Allie Pleiter to Teach Dialogue Writing Workshop

Writers of all genres and levels of experience are invited to attend a free "Dynamic Dialogue" writing workshop offered by the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Chicago Chapter from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at the Schaumburg Township Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. The workshop will be held in the Adult Classroom on the library's second floor. Multi-published author Allie Pleiter will offer specific strategies for creating realistic and engaging conversations that move a story forward.

"Dialogue can provide subtle backstory, vivid characterization, or shoot a plot forward at high speed," Pleiter said. "Great dialogue is memorable and effective. Bad dialogue is cumbersome and can turn your reader (or potential editor) off quickly. In this interactive workshop, I'll lead writers through all the ways they can use dialogue within a story to pack a punch."

Non-members are welcome to attend for free. For more information, go to the ACFW-Chicago Chapter Facebook page or call ACFW Chicago Chapter President Lara Helmling at (516) 900-5657.
