The Black Box Theatre at McHenry County College will present "Trudy and Max in Love" by Zoe Kazan. The multitalented Zoe Kazan provides a humorous take on an unconventional romance. Trudy and Max's relationship is anything but convenient -- Trudy writes young adult fiction and Max is a novelist of celebrity status. Trudy is married, but Max doesn't believe in love. The play conjures up the questions: is love a choice or does it just happen?

"Trudy and Max in Love" is directed by Kathryn McCord of Crystal Lake with set design by Thomas Kesling of Glenview, lighting design by Rick Amundsen of Woodstock, and stage manager Rachel Schneider of Johnsburg. The cast includes Rhiannon Palmer and Gabriel Harmon, both of Crystal Lake; Sean Plotts of Wonder Lake, Josh Archambeau of Lake in the Hills, Emily Rubino of Huntley and Fallon Knack of Union.

"Trudy and Max in Love" opens Thursday, March 8, and continues Fridays-Sundays, March 9-10, 15-17 and 22-24 with all performances beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15; $10 for students, MCC employees, alumni, seniors and veterans. The play contains adult subject matter. For reservations or information, call (815) 455-7846 or email jgeller@mchenry.edu. The Black Box Theatre is in Building E, adjacent to parking lot C.
