Festivals June 11-17: Pride celebrations, concerts in the park and more

Grads and Grease: 5-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 10-11; 1-11 p.m. Saturday, June 12; and 1-9 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Metra lot in downtown Highwood. Carnival with unlimited ride wristbands available for $25 from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 2020 and 2021 graduates and anyone dressed in "Grease"-themed attire will receive a $5 off unlimited ride specials. Dundee Concerts in the Park: 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Grafelman Park, 112 N. 5th St., West Dundee. The Band Sundance will perform. Food and drinks will be sold by the Dundee Township Lions Club. All proceeds will benefit the community. Free. www.wdundee.org.

Wildwood Movie in the Park: 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 11, in Rule Park, 33325 N. Sears Blvd., Wildwood. Watch "The Emperor's New Groove" starting at 8:45 p.m. There will be concessions, a bounce house, and the Tropical Chill Hawaiian Shaved Ice and Ice Cream Truck. 11th Annual Going Dutch Festival: Various times June 11-13, virtually and around downtown Elgin. A celebration of the female voice in dance, music, theater and the visual arts produced by Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court, Elgin. Eric Fischer Memorial Ride and Celebration: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 13. The event starts with a motorcycle ride beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Willow Creek Church, 67 Algonquin Road, South Barrington, and will end with a celebration from noon to 3 p.m. at North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook. A memorial celebration, which will be held at the Y from noon to 3 p.m., includes food, music and motorcycle mania. Proceeds benefit the Eric Fischer Memorial Fund. Aurora Pride Drive: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, around Aurora. Organizers encourage residents, business owners and clergy members to decorate their homes, businesses and houses of worship in support of the event. Flag Day: 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 14, at Veterans Park, 1300 N. Weiland, Buffalo Grove. The Buffalo Grove Police and Fire Departments Honor Guard will present the colors. The guest speaker will be Lieutenant Colonel Keith Cowan, with music provided by the 484th Army Band's Windwind Quintet. Social distancing guidelines will be maintained. Dessert will be served.
