Learn about saving the Bell Bowl Prairie with Green Drinks McHenry Nov. 3

On Wednesday, Nov. 3, Green Drinks McHenry will learn about "Saving the Bell Bowl Prairie" with Kerry Leigh, executive director of Natural Land Institute, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen, 110 N. Main St. in Crystal Lake. This program is offered in-person and on Zoom. Masks are required at the restaurant, and meals are not permitted in the meeting room.

Leigh will talk about about this special dry gravel prairie, the Bell Bowl Prairie in Rockford, which has become controversial with the planned expansion of the Rockford International Airport. She also will speak on the proposed protection plan that accommodates the airport expansion and protects the native prairie habitat. Learn more about the prairie at www.savebellbowlprairie.org.
