CASA-McHenry County needs volunteers

CASA of McHenry County is hosting information sessions about how to become a court-appointed special advocate. These volunteers give a voice to abused and neglected children by being a consistent, stable adult in the child's life and providing the court with information about the child's well-being. Sessions are scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, and Saturday, Sept. 18, at the CASA office, 630 N. Route 31, Suite 101, Crystal Lake. CASA of McHenry County has more than 100 active volunteers serving more than 115 children in the juvenile court system, but there are many more children who need help. Volunteers must apply and interview before enrolling in the class. Visit casamchenrycounty.org or attend one of the information sessions.
