MCC faculty to show works in new exhibit

The McHenry County College art exhibition, "FACULTY FACULTY," will be featured at the Old Courthouse Art Center, 101 N. Johnson St., Woodstock through July 12.

The opening reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10.

It will feature recent work from the college's art department faculty, including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics and jewelry.

"The art faculty at MCC balance their teaching duties with their personal practices," said Matt Irie, MCC art department chair. "These practices keep their skills sharp and keep them active in the art world. It is the philosophy of the department that a vibrant art practice informs studio teaching and, in turn, teaching informs art making."

"FACULTY FACULTY" is part of an ongoing series of exhibitions at the Satellite Gallery in the Old Courthouse Art Center in partnership with the Northwest Area Arts Council.

The exhibition and opening reception are free. For more information, call Matt Irie at (815) 455-8552 or email mirie@mchenry.edu.
