Healthy Lombard Receives Grant From TCF Bank

The Healthy Lombard Foundation recently was the recipient of a $1000 grant from the TCF Foundation in recognition of the difference the organization is making to address the epidemic of childhood obesity and promote a healthier lifestyle for the entire community. Pictured are

Healthy Lombard will use these funds to support its Triple A Approach to making a change that consists of Awareness, Activities, and the celebration of Achievement. Some of these activities include a Fitness February Fair, the cable show Health Local, the sponsorship of healthy kid-focused events, and the yearly presentation of Health Hero awards. The funds will also be used to update its website that has received over 2 million hits since 2015.

Begun in 2010, Healthy Lombard has expanded from its original 8 partners to now include more that 40 community groups and organization interested in creating a healthier environment for kids (and their families) to learn how to make the healthy choice the easy choice.

The TCF Foundation, the philanthropic arm of TCF National Bank, provides charitable contributions to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in education, human services, community development and the arts. The Foundation allocates grants to organizations located within the communities in which TCF offices are located, and to organizations engaged in nonprofit activities designed to improve the economic and social well being of local communities.
