Monarch Landing welcomes Nancy L. Arnold as new Sales and Marketing Director

In the 20 years that Monarch Landing Sales and Marketing Director Nancy L. Arnold has been in senior housing and services, she has seen how life changing it can be for people to transition from their private home to a community setting.

"Many people may have difficulty maintaining their home, or driving and so it becomes difficult to go out and shop or run errands," Arnold says. "Living alone can be very isolating and that can have a detrimental effect on one's health. Once they move, so many of those tasks are no longer an issue, and there are reasons for them to leave their apartment and be a part of the community. All of a sudden it is easier to do the things you enjoy and make new friendships. A move like this can have a tremendous impact on people, and personally, it is very rewarding to see life become easier and more active for our residents."

Arnold says that her role at Monarch Landing is to work with families who are interested in moving into Independent Living. She has worked in the industry long enough to understand the sometimes difficult transition from a private home to a community.

"There are a lot of memories and identity wrapped up in the house and neighborhood where they may have raised their children or worked," Arnold says. "They are familiar with their routine, and now they are considering changing it. We really help counsel people as they begin the process of moving. We introduce prospective residents to current Monarch Landing residents to get a sense of how they handled the moving process."

Arnold says that she enjoys the entire experience of working alongside prospective residents and their families.

"Never in my career has anyone come to me and said they regretted their decision to move into a community," Arnold says. "We all want to have the highest quality of life, and for folks who choose to move into a community the rewards can be tremendous. It has a positive effect on their children, grandchildren and even their friends. It is such as win-win situation, and I believe it has an impact on longevity and quality of life. I feel very privileged to be part of that process."

Arnold has worked for several other senior living communities, but Monarch Landing stands apart from those residences in a few significant ways.

"Monarch Landing is a beautiful community and is filled with some of the friendliest residents I have ever known," Arnold says. "And the residents are extremely active, and always out and about in the community. Monarch Landing is a very youthful, vibrant and energetic place to live and for me to work."

Arnold received her bachelor of science in marketing/management at Illinois State University, and her master's degree in business administration and management from Pepperdine University. While a lifelong Chicagoan, Arnold's career has taken her from Chicago to Los Angeles, to New York and Connecticut.
