Girl Scouts open winter camp in Harvard to families

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is offering "Frosty Frolic" to all local families who want to experience winter camping together!

Families, couples, and small groups are invited to bundle up and explore Mary Ann Beebe Center, 17501 Streit Road in Harvard, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.

Activities will include sledding, cross country skiing, and snowman building. There also will be "Warm Up!" breaks throughout the day for hot chocolate. Even if the ground is dry, there will be plenty to do outside with exciting camping explorations. For safety, cross country skiing will only be available to adults and children in second grade or up.

Cost is $10 per youth or $5 per adult. Registration is open and ends Monday, Feb. 9.
