Comedian offers laughs, life lessons at Harper show

What do you get when you cross a comedian with a life coach? You get Jeff Schneider.

A comic who has seen and done it all, Schneider is bringing his brand of funny to Harper College at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in A238, Building A, on the college’s main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine. Admission is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Condensing 60 years of life experience down to 90 fast and funny minutes, Schneider promises to uncover the truth on everything that was never taught in school, from what happens after graduation to what pitfalls to avoid to how to live a well-rounded life in world overrun by commerce and media.

Known throughout the comedy community as “The Schmoozemaster,” Schneider owned the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Pittsburgh for over 30 years, where he traded punchlines with some of the biggest names in comedy. With a long history of making audiences laugh and lifetime of experience behind him, Schneider will joke and improvise his way through a 90-minute performance that will be as educational as it is funny.

Appearing with Schneider is his friend and fellow comic Dobie Maxwell, a Chicago-based comedian who has been touring the U.S. since 1985. Together, Schneider and Maxwell host the comedy podcast “The Unshow!”
