Grayslake North rolls to victory

The senior outside hitter slammed 5 kills to help Grayslake North’s girls volleyball team defeat Woodstock North 25-13, 25-13 in Fox Valley Fox Division action Thursday night.
Grayslake North (5-11, 2-3) also received 4 kills from Nicole LeBaron and three apiece from Bailee Hardy and Alaina Geissberger (4 blocks). Cassie Reimbold contributed 3 aces and 9 digs for the Knights, and Kendall Buchman lofted 7 assists on 34-of-35 setting.
Crystal Lake Central d. Grayslake Central: Alex Dahlstrom had 5 kills and Allie Daul posted 5 blocks for the Rams, who lost the FVC Fox match 25-19, 25-14.
Gabi Casper chipped in 3 kills and 11 digs for Grayslake Central (10-5, 2-2), while Teresa Curtis led the defense with 13 digs. Anna Basten also had 5 blocks.
“We played well against a tough CLC team,” Grayslake Central coach Jason Janczak said. “I am proud of our effort.”
Grant d. Wilmot: The two teams played five sets, with the Bulldogs prevailing 25-23, 23-25, 16-25, 25-15, 15-11.
Kylie Mueller had 8 kills and 5 solo blocks for Grant, while Anna Panasenko registered 6 blocks. Beka Couch also slammed 8 kills. Deanna Rodriguez’s 9 digs paced the defense. Alyssa Wilhelm was 26-of-27 serving with 7 aces.
St. Viator d. Vernon Hills: Kasey Firnbach pounded 7 kills for the Cougars in their 26-24, 25-14 loss.
Vernon Hills (3-9) also got 3 kills and 2 aces from Sienna Spiglanin. Jenna Joyce and Tori Smith posted 3 and 2 blocks, respectively, for the Cougars.
