Wauconda turkey Trot 2012 announced!

Join family and friends Thanksgiving morning (Thursday, November 22nd) by joining in a 4 mile race around Bangs Lake, or an enjoyable 2 mile fun run/walk down Main Street and through Cook Park in Wauconda.

Participant perks include Turkey Trophies to the two top finishers in each age group (via professional timing), best costume award, T-shirts to the first 400 registrants, and a top notch goodie bag!

After the race, stick around for entertainment, breakfast sandwiches, and even a celebratory mimosa! Awards are at 10:15 and will be wrapped up by 10:30... Plenty of time to then get the bird in your oven!

The second annual Wauconda Turkey trot is a StarRunners event, with all proceeds going to the Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry. Register online at active.com, or download a registration form at www.waucondaturkeytrot.com. Register for the 4 mile'r for $20 ($25 raceday) or for the kid and pet friendly fun run/walk for $15.

Coordinated by runners for runners, with strong local sponsorship support, this second year event is sure to be a wonderful way to begin your Thanksgiving weekend!
