Lake Forest’s boys golf team earned some revenge in capturing its own Class 3A regional Tuesday.

The Scouts shot a 308 at Lake Bluff Golf Course to win by a comfortable margin over runner-up Carmel Catholic (316) and Mundelein (318).

At last week’s North Suburban Conference meet, Mundelein edged Lake Forest for the championship.

Lake Forest, Mundelein and Carmel all advanced to Monday’s Barrington sectional at Makray Memorial Golf Course. Libertyville (330) finished fourth.

Lake Forest was led by medalist Jackson Bedford, who fired a 2-over-par 74. The Scouts received 78s from Ian Mankoff, Drew Takas, Jack Garrity and Tommy Dee. Carmel got a 76 from Jared Moore, a 79 from Tommy Schofield, an 80 from Nathan Ley and an 81 from Jackson Wietecha.

Grant Heelan turned in Mundelein’s best round with a 75, while Bret Cigelnik and Derek Parola both carded a 79. Jeff Lee’s 85 accounted for the Mustangs’ fourth score.

Advancing individuals who were not part of the advancing teams included Libertyville’s Peter Henderson (80), Bobby Snader (81), Billy Knutson (83) and Danilo Sutic (86), Warren’s Chris Oberto (80), Jack Hansen (83) and Kyle Kane (88), and Grayslake North’s Christian DiBerardino (87).

Crystal Lake South regional: At Red Tail Golf Course, Lake Zurich’s Adam Schulte shot a 76 to advance to Monday’s Class 3A Barrington sectional.

The advancing teams were Cary-Grove (297), Huntley (301) and Barrington (307). Lake Zurich (336) finished ninth.
