Buffalo Grove 2, Cary-Grove 1: Cary-Grove (3-3) played a close game Wednesday afternoon before eventually falling 2-1 to Buffalo Grove in 9 innings. The Trojans scored a run to take the lead 1-0 in the fourth inning, but the Bison countered with a run of their own in the sixth to tie it up. Lindsay Marshall (1-2) suffered the loss going the distance in the circle, striking out one and giving up 1 earned run.
Larkin 5, East Aurora 1: Larkin (3-5, 2-0) came out on top against East Aurora in Upstate Eight Conference action, pounding out 9 hits en route to a 5-1 victory. Corrine Wimmer (1 run), Victoria Nino (RBI), and Megan Johnson led the Royals with 2 hits each. Leah Rybakowski also contributed offensively with a double and an RBI. Anna Esterino (1-1) earned her first victory, giving up no hits in 5 innings pitched.
Lake Park 14, Streamwood 0: Streamwood committed 5 errors in this Upstate Eight Conference loss. Jenna Szabo suffered the loss for the Sabres.
Genoa-Kingston 4, St. Edward 1: The Green Wave (5-2) struggled offensively Wednesday afternoon managing just 1 hit. a double by Kristina Brockner, and striking out 9 times suffering a 4-1 nonconference loss to Genoa-Kingston. Sarah Field endured the loss for St. Edward giving up 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out five in a complete game effort.
South Elgin 10, Dundee-Crown 0: Kim Pierce was 3-for-4 with an RBI while Caitlin Stredde, Lauren Vitiello and Brittany Boelter added 2 hits each as the Storm (3-5) rapped out 13 hits in this nonconference win at D-C. Xenia Cerdia not only was the winning pitcher for South Elgin, she also went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Emilie Kerkman suffered the loss for the Chargers (3-3).
