Thursday's Fox Valley roundup

Streamwood not only got its first win of the season on the softball field Thursday, the Sabres got a perfect game in the circle in the process.

Kelsey Johnson fired a five-inning no-hit, no-run perfect game at East Aurora as the Sabres won 10-0 in Upstate Eight Conference action.

Johnson struck out seven, walked none and the Sabres played errorless softball behind her.

Delaney O'Malley was 4-for-4 with 3 RBI for Streamwood while Arielle Gallione had a 2-run home run and a double and Brittany Giamberduca was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Huntley 16, Jacobs 0: Huntley pounded out 13 hits off Jacobs ace Kara Arceneaux, and the Golden Eagles committed 4 errors as the Red Raiders ran away with this Fox Valley Conference crossover game. Jenna Mychko was 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI for Huntley (9-6), while Sam Clemons was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Deanna DeBosschere 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and Alex Albanese 2-for-3 with an RBI. Clemons (8-4) was the winning pitcher. She walked three, struck out three and allowed just 3 hits.

Prairie Ridge 8, Dundee-Crown 0: The Chargers (4-5) committed 4 errors in this FVC crossover loss. Tiffany Rawlinson had a triple for D-C and Emilie Kerkman suffered the loss in the circle.

CL South 8, Grayslake North 3: Megan Hardie was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI and Kaitlin Hardie was 2-for-3 w3ith 2 RBI and 3 stolen bases as the Gators (10-2) won their 10th straight in this FVC crossover. Sam Golf was not only the winning pitcher but was also 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Burlington Central 10, Richmond 0: On the heels of a no-hitter against Genoa on Wednesday, senior Mackenzie Scott threw a 1-hitter and hit a grand slam home run as Burlington (6-3, 1-0) rolled in the Big Northern East. On Thursday, Scott struck out 16 and didn't walk anyone in the seven-inning complete game. Kayla Oranger was 3-for-5 with 2 stolen bases for the Rockets while Brittany Priest went 4-for-4, Ashley Scheffler 3-for-3 and Haley Albamonte 3-for-4. Samantha Gruner, Abby Morrow and Albamonte also drove in runs for BC.

North Boone 6, Hampshire 1: Ally Kent struck out 12 but she walked five and Hampshire (3-5, 1-1) committed 4 errors in this Big Northern East loss.
