Northwest: Thursday's roundup

Conant d. Barrington: Conant (11-11, 3-6) defeated host Barrington (10-12, 5-4) for the second time season as Allie Bauch (8 kills), Antoinette Schiffer (7), Cheslea Vanicek (6) and Kristin Perschon (4) led the Cougars' attack in a 25-17, 25-13, 25-71 victory.

Conant senior setter Marni Wiklanski collected 18 assists while Vanicek (13 digs) and Taylor Levitt (10) led the defense.

Perschon recorded 4 blocks while Antonia Jones had a pair.

Schaumburg d Hoffman Estates: Junior Emily Young had 5 kills, 5 blocks, 9 assists and was 6-of-6 serving for host Schaumburg in a 25-17, 25-22 victory. Other top attackers for the winners (8-14, 4-5) were Rebecca Thompson (4 kills), Alyssa Saklak (3 kills) and Sara Travis (2).

Jenny Dolan was 11-of-12 serving with 5 digs while Ally Poehlmann was 14-of-14 at the line with 4 digs. Hoffman is now 4-5 in the MSL West.

Elk Grove d. Buffalo Grove: Leah Miller (8 kills), Mel Jarosz (6 kills, 8 digs, 1 ace) and Stephanie Maday (5 kills, 2 blocks) led the attack for visiting Elk Grove (14-8, 6-3) in a 25-16, 25-21 victory.

Jessica Condon set the offense with 22 assists and also was 11-of-12 serving with 4 aces and 8 digs. Olivia Roback (2 aces) was 14-of-14 serve receiving, followed by Stephanie Pizzo (10-of-10) and Jessica Mueller (8-of-9).

Alanna Zawlocki had 4 kills for BG (5-17, 1-8) while Stacey Jorda added 3.

Prospect d. Rolling Meadows: Junior southpaw Sam Mangrum, who also pitches for the softball team, put down a team-high 7 kills as the visiting Knights (16-6, 7-2) posted a 25-13, 25-23 triumph.

Sisters Sarah (3 aces) and Rachel (7 digs) Hunt each had 5 kills for the winners while Danielle Siwik (14 assists, 2 aces) and Abby Homuth (7 assists) quarterbacked the offense.

Senior Maureen O'Keefe anchored the defense again with 17 digs and 14-of-17 serve receiving. Sophomore middle hitter Maura Benson collected 3 blocks while Sarah Hunt had 2.

Rockford Christian d. Christian Liberty: Rockford Christian earned a 25-9, 25-20 victory over the Crusaders (9-6, 4-5), who were led on attack by Taylor White (6 kills) in the Northeastern Athletic Conference match.

White also had 3 aces and 2 digs while Amy Farmer had 2 kills and 2 digs.

Jayna Rowland also had 2 kills and Annie Salsgiver 1.
