Fox Valley baseball wrap-up

St. Edward 13, ACC 5: Jordan Torres was 3-for-4 with two doubles and 2 RBI and T.J. Madzy was 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored as the Green Wave (4-3, 2-0) rolled to another Suburban Catholic Conference win. Jim Fraczek allowed 5 hits with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks to earn the win.

Hampshire falls twice: The Whip-Purs lost to Normal U-High 7-6 and to Galesburg 7-1 Friday on their trip to western Illinois. Zach Crinigan was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, Joe Moore went 3-for-3 and Max Shaw was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the U-High game. Ryan Meyer suffered the loss on the mound. Against Galesburg, Hampshire managed just 4 hits. Erik Chellberg endured the loss on the mound.

South Elgin 15, Dundee-Crown 4: South Elgin scored 7 times in the second inning of this nonconference win. Leading D-C were Zack Vodick (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and Jake Romano (2-for-4). Sam Jordt got the pitching win for South Elgin.

Boylan 5, Cary-Grove 4: Boylan scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning to down Cary-Grove (4-3-1) in nonconference play. Luke Mottashid (4-for-4, 2B, HR) and Keegan Mascarella (2-for-4, 2B) led the Cary-Grove offense. Corey Bruns suffered the loss for the Trojans.
