Woodstock North wins Vernon Hills tourney

At Vernon Hills, the host Cougars dropped the finale of their own tournament 38-31 to Woodstock North on Wednesday despite Abby Springer's 10 points and 4 steals.

Woodstock North won the tourney with a 4-0 record. Vernon Hills, which won the inaugural tournament last year, finished 3-1.

Deerfield 35, Grant 21: At Deerfield, Morgan Jahnke hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points for the Bulldogs.

New Trier 60, Warren 55: On Tuesday night, the Blue Devils lost the New Trier tournament game, despite Jessica Prince's 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Lexi Leneau added 15 points and 5 assists for Warren (1-2), and Taylor Cotey had 11 points. Amanda Barger contributed 8 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

New Trier was led by Maggie Lyon's 28 points and 6 assists and Jessica Blackwell's 14 points and 12 rebounds.
