Westminster wins two: Westminster Christian (16-7) defeated Christian Liberty 24-0 and 10-0 in doubleheader action Saturday. Frank Oliver was 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, 5 RS, 5 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 4 walks on the day. Kevin Elder had 3 hits, including a home run, 4 RS, and 4 RBI. Jordan Kalous had 3 hits, 4 RS, and 4 RBI; while Ben Stevenson went 3-for-5 with an RBI, 4 RS, and walked twice. Elder was on the mound in the first game for the win, pitching 2 2/3 innings with 4 strikeouts, no hits, and no walks. Ryan Perez got the win in Game 2, pitching 5 innings with 1 hit, no walks, and 10 strikeouts.

Cary-Grove 18, Wauconda 3: Cary-Grove (15-8) blew by Wauconda with 20 hits, including a home run each from Eric Chandler (3 RBI) and Chris Waylock. Alex Posey had 3 RBI, while Stuart Gaulke, Michael Vilardo, and Steve Mihalik each had 2 RBI. Mike Devoe (2-2) pitched all 7 innings, allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits and 1 walk with 5 strikeouts.

Hoffman Estates 11, Dundee-Crown 7: Dundee-Crown (10-13) allowed 6 runs in the first inning, came back and tied the game 6-6 but could not hold on for the win. Scott Nowicke was 2-for-3 with a double, and Nick Spagnola was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI for the Chargers. Jake Romano went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Zach Vodicka (3-3) suffered the loss with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.

Crystal Lake South 9, Hoffman Estates 7: The Gators (13-9) scored 7 runs in the fifth inning to earn this nonconference win. Nick Martin was 3-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, 2 RS and 4 RBI for the Gators. Martin (3-1) also pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing 4 earned runs off 7 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts for the win.

Hampshire splits: Hampshire (12-8) was defeated 7-6 in Game 1 but came back to defeat Aurora Christian 6-5 in Game 2 of nonconference doubleheader action Saturday. Ron Laramie was 3-for-3 with a triple, 2 RBI, and a RS to lead the offense in Game 1. Ryan DeChant (2 hits, 2 RBI, RS) and Ryan Burke (2B, 2 RS) also did well for Hampshire. Luke Wians (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season. In Game 2, Burke (2 RS) hit a 2-run home run, while both Shane Hernandez and Laramie (RS) each contributed a 2-run double to push the Whip-Purs to victory. After allowing 3 earned runs in the third inning from the mound, Hernandez (2-0) held Aurora Christian scoreless until the end of the game for the win.
