Lake Park batters East Aurora

Displaying their extra-base power, the Lake Park Lancers slugged four doubles and a triple in their 11-1, six-inning Upstate Eight Conference win over East Aurora.

Matt Kaiser went 3-for-4 with a double, 3 runs scored and a run batted-in in support of winning pitcher Kevin Miller (2-1). Artie Monaco, Ryan Rapshus and Anthony Valldeperas doubled for the Lancers. Peter Spear went 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. The game ended early when the Lancers scored 5 runs in the top of the sixth inning in Aurora.

Waubonsie Valley 10, Elgin 2: Waubonsie Valley (9-7, 7-3) won in the Upstate Eight Conference, getting doubles by Eric Sousanes and Mike Murphy. Matt Mecaskey (1-2) pitched 7 strong innings, striking out four.

Plainfield North 9, Glenbard East 6: In the nonconference game in Lombard, the host Rams nearly made up a 9-0 deficit against 16-1 Plainfield North. Glenbard East (2-12) scored 4 runs on 7 hits in the sixth and 2 more runs in the sixth, and ended the game with the bases loaded. Cody Thompson hit a 2-run home run and both Joe Dathe and Mike Dexl had 2 hits for the Rams. Plainfield North's Travis Hawks slugged a 2-run home run.
