Cary-Grove 39, Grant 32: Paige Lincicum had 12 points and 5 rebounds and Olivia Jackubicek added 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Trojans (6-3) won on the first day of action at the Mundelein Holiday Tournament. Joslyn Nicholson added 6 rebounds for Cary-Grove and Lincicum had 4 steals.
Mundelein 42, Huntley 33: Huntley fell behind 16-5 after one quarter and couldn't recover in losing to the host team at the Mundelein Holiday Tournament. Abbey Shaw had 14 points and Sam Andrews added 9 for the Red Raiders (6-3).
CL South 41, CL Central 38: Rachel Rasmussen had 11 points and Sara Mickow added 10 as the Gators (3-7) outscored crosstown rival Central 8-5 in overtime to come away with the Fox Valley Conference crossover win on Hoops for Heroes Night at South. Stephanie Melone added 9 points for South.
Richmond 60, Burlington Central 55: Jessica Laird had 21 points to lead Burlington Central, which was outscored 18-10 in the fourth quarter of this Big Northern East loss at Richmond. Sarah Nelson added 9 points for the Rockets (3-6, 1-1) and Erica Haynes had 8.
Oswego 58, Larkin 34: Jill Casebeer had 12 points and Maggie Hofman added 8 but Larkin (1-8) fell in the first round of the Oswego tournament.
Vernon Hills 60, Streamwood 51: The Sabres (5-5) fell behind 37-26 at halftime and couldn't mount a comeback in this first-round game at the Mundelein tournament. Hannah McGlone led Streamwood with 16 points and Jessica Cerda added 15. Holly Foret had 8 points for the Sabres.
Westminster Christian 62, Genoa-Kingston 25: Whitney VandenBos hit for 16 points, including going 5 of 6 from 3-point range, to lead the Warriors (7-3) to a nonconference win. Claire Spiewek (12 points, 6 steals) and Porsche Griggs (10 points, 3 blocks) also contributed for Westminster.
