DuPage County Historical Museum Debuts New Exhibit

Over 200 attend Girl Scout 100th Anniversary Exhibit Opening

WHEATON, IL – Over 200 Girls Scouts, Leaders and dignitaries attended last Saturday’s opening reception for the DuPage County Historical Museum’s newest exhibit: Girl Scouts Our Promise: Then, Now and Forever.

Brownies from Troop 41912 helped cut the red ribbon to kick off the festivities. Guests were welcomed with a brief history of the Girl Scouts by Jane Doyle and Rosemarie Courtney from the Girl Scout of Greater Illinois and Indiana.

Girl Scouts of all ages sang, enjoyed refreshments and made a friendship circle with Carolyn Lauing-Finzer, who has been involved with the Girl Scouts for over 46 years. In addition to completing badge work, the Scouts posted memories on a story wall, which will remain on view for the duration of the exhibit. Visitors' memories can be added in person or through the museum’s website.

DuPage County Historical Museum is located at 102 E. Wesley Street, Wheaton. The museum is open Monday-Friday 8:30 am to4:00pm; Saturday – Sunday noon to 4:00pm. Admission is always free.
