Michel Gomez, Danny Valdez and Tony Escamilla each had first-half goals as Larkin’s boys soccer team stayed in the thick of the Upstate Eight River title hunt Thursday night with a 3-1 win over Geneva.
Manny Aguilar had 2 assists and Tony Hernandez 1 for the Royals (12-4-4, 3-0-2). Santiago Guerrero had 6 saves in goal.
“We played a good game,” said Larkin coach Ken Hall. “Geneva is a good team and our defense did a good job of stopping them tonight.”
Streamwood 1, St. Charles North 1: Mario Rodriguez scored off a Luis Rodriguez assist to help Streamwood (5-12-2, 1-3-1) earn a UEC River tie. Jose Resendiz had 9 saves in goal for the Sabres.
