Thursday's Fox Valley roundup

The Huntley girls soccer team clinched at least a tie for the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division championship Thursday with a 6-0 win over Dundee-Crown.

Aimee Wronski (2 assists) paced the Red Raiders (18-3-1, 8-1) with a hat trick which gives her a team-leading 23 goals on the year. Taylor Henning-Fletter and Emily Konior each recorded a goal while junior Gabriella Eberle picked up her first goal of the season to round out the scoring. Sara Hoffman recorded 2 saves in goal for the Red Raiders while Deanna Libricz turned away 9 shots on goal for the Chargers.

CL South 1, Cary-Grove 0: Crystal Lake South's Emma Dalzell scored a second-half goal off an assist from Kali Loescher as the Gators knocked off Cary-Grove 1-0 Thursday night in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division match. Elizabeth Quinn had 11 saves in goal for the Gators (14-7-2, 6-2), while Paige Wooldridge made 2 stops for the Trojans (11-7, 6-2).

Jacobs 2, McHenry 1: The Golden Eagles (10-9-1, 3-5) played a scoreless first half of soccer before finding the back of the net in the second half twice to propel them to a Fox Valley (Valley Division) victory over McHenry on the road. Kelsey Quitschau and Cassidy Sherman paced the Golden Eagles with 1 goal and 1 assist apiece. Alyssa Barnard recorded 6 saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.

Hampshire 3, Marengo 1: The Whip-Purs (15-5, 8-0) remained undefeated in Big Northern East play as they defeated Marengo on the road. Alex Field, Tami Mason, and Cassie Dumoulin each recorded a goal while Jori Anderson added an assist. Haylee Moscato turned away 4 shots on goal for the Whip-Purs.

Burlington Central 9, North Boone 0: The Rockets (11-3-3, 7-1) were firing on all cylinders as they recorded 9 first-half goals to claim an easy shutout victory over North Boone in this Big Northern East match. Madalene Stoneman recorded 4 goals as she led the Rockets offensively while Cara Martini, Karrington Bell, Catherine Kaynish, Erica Heissler, and Jessica Martinez each added a goal. Caitlin Solberg and Alison Rodriguez were not tested in goal for the Rockets.

St. Edward 3, Aurora Central Catholic 1: The Green Wave (4-17-2) finished their regular season on a strong note as they defeated Suburban Christian Conference opponent Aurora Central Catholic on the road. Jessica Stasinski (1 assist), Mallory Malone, and Colleen Kerger all recorded goals for the Green Wave while Rena Ranallo and Jessica Realzola each added an assist. Paige Gannon preserved the win in goal as she recorded 6 saves on the night.

Neuqua Valley 7, Streamwood 0: The Sabres were unable to get on the board as they fell to the Wildcats in this Upstate Eight Conference matchup at home. Brianna Roppo recorded 7 saves in goal for the Sabres.
