Foreman, Grant construct victory over Round Lake

Vanessa Foreman scored both goals, as Grant's girls soccer team blanked Round Lake 2-0 in the Grayslake Central tournament Wednesday.

Foreman converted a Jessica Ring pass in the first half and then knocked in a second-half penalty kick.

Jennifer Jones stopped 8 shots in earning the shutout for the Bulldogs.

Mundelein 8, North Myrtle Beach 0: In South Carolina, Ashley Begrowicz and Stephanie Emery each scored twice for the Mustangs, who improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 on their trip.

Emery also had an assist. Mundelein's other offensive contributors included Abbey Ekstrom (goal, 2 assists), Brooke Dennis (goal), Ashley Asher (goal) and Shayne Carroll (2 assists).

Melanie Swager and Dennis shared the shutout in goal for the Mustangs, who have outscored their four opponents 24-0.

Grayslake Central 1, Waukegan 0: The Rams recorded their second shutout in as many days in their own tournament, as Kat Dickson and Maggie Klees combined for the whitewashing.

Allie Black scored the lone goal, her fourth of the season. Brittani Risinger earned the assist.
