Derek Idstein was brilliant — with a bat in his hands Wednesday.

The Grayslake Central senior hit for the cycle in the Rams’ 15-1 win over Woodstock North in a Fox Valley Conference Fox Division baseball game.

Idstein finished 4-for-4 with 4 RBI. Grayslake Central also got multihit games from Kristian Meehan (2-for-3), Nick Hosford (3-for-4), Austin Miller (2-for-4), Austin Leggett (3-for-4, 3 RBI) and Jon Gurchak (2-for-3, 3 RBI).

Jake Oslovich earned the win on the mound.

Mundelein 10, Round Lake 0: Ryan Borucki pitched a five-inning 1-hitter, striking out 10, as the Mustangs won the North Suburban crossover.Jordan Wiegold homered for Mundelein (24-6) and finished 3-for-3. Charlie Gandolfi went 2-for-3 with a double, and Billy McMahon also doubled for the winners.Lakes 14, Zion-Benton 0: The Eagles put up 8 runs in the first inning and cruised in the North Suburban crossover.

Jake Brown led off the game for Lakes (18-12) with a double to right center. Kyle Noon then crushed a 2-run home run over the right-field fence, and the Eagles never looked back.

Lakes got 2-for-3 efforts from Brown (2 doubles, 2 RBI, 2 runs) Noon (3 RBI) and Matt Dexheimer (double, 4 RBI).

Paul Kukulka earned his third win of the season, throwing 3 innings and allowing only 1 hit.

Grant 15, Lake Forest 14: Jake Ring fell a triple shy of the cycle, as the Bulldogs prevailed in a wild North Suburban crossover.Ring homered, doubled and singled, and also drew a walk and drove in a run. Grant also got 3-hit games from Jared Helmich (double, 3 RBI), Brent Spohr (3 RBI) and Nick Fanella (double, 2 RBI). The Bulldogs pounded out 16 hits, in total.Warren 5, Vernon Hills 4: The Blue Devils erased a 4-0 deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning and won the North Suburban crossover with a run in the ninth.

Austin Hagen had 3 hits and an RBI for Vernon Hills. Anthony Mazza added 2 hits and 2 RBI for the Cougars.

Libertyville 12, Antioch 3: Evan Skoug homered for the second straight day and also doubled, as the Wildcats rolled in the North Suburban crossover.Joey Eichmann had 2 doubles for Libertyville (18-12), while Nick Coutre, Mike Mudd and Ryan McGuire also doubled. Skoug, Coutre, Eichmann and Max Ebert each had 2 hits.Mark Boyle was the winning pitcher.Antioch (17-9) got doubles from Emery Paramski and Joe Gregory.Lake Zurich 25, North Chicago 0: Eddie Szarkowicz pitched 2-hit ball over 4 innings, striking out nine and walking one, and Steven Kuhn homered and singled, as the Bears won their fifth in a row.

Danny Minogue was 3-for-3 with a double, 4 runs scored and 4 RBI for Lake Zurich (13-15) in the North Suburban crossover. Other Bears with big offensive days included Tim Sayre (2-for-2, triple, 2 RBI), Danny O#146;Connor (2-for-3, 4 runs, walk), Connor Loftus (2-for-4, double, 3 RBI) and Conor Clancy (2-for-3, 2 RBI). Jacob LaRue, Jeremy Reusch, Brian Weist and Mike Irgang also doubled. Parker Asmann tripled.

Szarkowicz improved to 2-0.

Jacobs 12, Grayslake North 11: The Golden Eagles avenged Tuesday#146;s Fox Valley Conference loss, as Dillon O#146;Toole#146;s hit in the bottom of the seventh capped a 2-run inning.Eric Lonigro had a grand slam for Jacobs (12-18, 10-13). Grayslake North fell to 11-18, 10-13.
