Glenbard West’s Steinhilber throws no-hitter

Glenbard West’s Taylor Steinhilber (2-1) twirled a no-hitter, striking out three in a 3-0 win over No. 16 West Chicago on Thursday in Glen Ellyn. Dayle Comerford went 2-for-3 and drove in 2 runs and Jacklyn Tyburk had an RBI for Glenbard West (4-1). Losing pitcher Mary Connolly (3-3) had 4 strikeouts for West Chicago (4-4).

Downers Grove North 5, Downers Grove South 0:Kendall Ryndak (4-0) threw five shutout innings, combining with little sister Dale Ryndak to 1-hit the No. 9 Mustangs while facing the minimum 21 batters at Downers Grove South.Dale Ryndak hit a solo homer in the fifth and doubled for No. 5 Downers Grove North (7-0). Jenna Butler hit a 2-run homer in a 3-run sixth, Sam Yeager doubled twice and Katie Hunzinger went 3-for-3. Hunzinger also made a brilliant diving catch of a line drive in the fifth, doubling off the runner at first with a throw from her knees. Marissa Vazquez (1-1) struck out four for Downers Grove South (4-2).Glenbard South 5, Riverside-Brookfield 4:Rachel Cohen hit a 2-run triple and scored a run during a 3-run Raiders fourth, as No. 3 Glenbard South built a 5-0 lead and held on in Glen Ellyn. Winning pitcher Jess Wilkes (3-0) struck out six for Glenbard South (4-1, 2-0 Metro Suburban Conference), which beat Riverside-Brookfield for the second time in three days.Naperville North 15, Streamwood 0:Emily Dieckmann (2-0) fired a no-hitter and the Huskies put up 10 runs in the first inning in Naperville. Sammy Marshall went 3-for-4, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI, Bella Masini went 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored and an RBI and Amanda Spizzirri went 2-for-2 and walked twice for Naperville North (2-1).Hinsdale South 5, Montini 4:Amy Narotsky doubled to start the bottom of the seventh inning and scored on Cecie Portillo#146;s game-winning hit for the Hornets (3-4). Brooke Dodson, Jessica Andre and Lindsey Schwarz all had 2 hits and scored runs for Hinsdale South.St. Charles North 5, WW South 2:Amanda Ciran struck out eight for the No. 4 North Stars (5-1), handing the No. 19 Tigers (10-5) their third loss in four games.Glenbard East 14, Rolling Meadows 8:The Rams, trailing 8-4 after four innings, scored 4 runs in the fifth and 6 more in the sixth to notch their first win. Kara Tadda (1-4) got the win and Michaela Stranski homered for the Rams (1-7). Immaculate Conception 16, Proviso West 2:Katelyn Conenna threw a 2-hitter, striking out nine, for her first varsity win. The Knights (3-6) drew 19 walks, with Jenn Clementi going 3-for-3 with a double, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Nina Vlahiotis drove in 3 runs and scored twice and Conenna had 2 RBI.
