Schaumburg restaurant worker wears 20-year pin with pride

On March 23, Henry Matthiessen, general manager of the McDonald’s at 775 E. Algonquin Road in Schaumburg, presented Jacque Hines with an award for 20 years of service.

She received a McDonald’s Retro Restaurant crystal figurine of the original McDonald’s store located in Des Plaines and a rhinestone-studded Golden Arches pin that Hines wears with pride.

Hines was born with Down syndrome 41 years ago, graduated from Wheeling High School where she excelled. She lives at home with her parents, and because her love of sports, has turned her room a into virtual sports museum. She has had a job since graduating from high school. Hines has a positive presence wherever she goes, reflective of her personality and the importance of God in her life.

The ceremony was a special day. Along with Matthiessen, McDonald’s Operations Consultant Ramona Ramsey also attended.

Hines loves to bowl and has been on a NWSRA team on Saturdays since last year. Her high game is 157. She’s also a good swimmer. She loves to watch sports, to ride her bike to the nearby shopping center, and go to movies with her father.

Hines has five brothers and sisters: Paul, Jim, Pamela, Juli-Ann and Michael and stepbrother Chris Fry.
