‘Haunted Collector’ at Harper Oct. 16

Just in time for Halloween, Harper College will host TV’s “Haunted Collector” John Zaffis — a veteran paranormal investigator, who will discuss his role as creator and host of a popular Syfy Channel reality series that focuses on haunted and possessed personal objects. The event, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the college’s J Building Theatre, Room J143, is open to the public.

In his role on “The Haunted Collector,” Zaffis answers calls from those being terrorized by haunted or possessed items. Each week, he is responsible for ridding his clients of the objects by returning them, burying them or bringing them to his own paranormal museum. The show began its second season in June on Syfy, and its premiere episode was the highest-rated reality debut on the network.

Zaffis’ Harper College audience can expect to hear his favorite stories of ghostly encounters; he’ll also discuss his own collection of paranormal artifacts. With more than 30 years as a paranormal investigator and demonologist under his belt, Zaffis is an expert in all that goes bump in the night. He’ll take audience questions following his presentation.
