Waterleaf Restaurant Presents: Cooking with Jean-Louis – Caribbean Cuisine June

Waterleaf Restaurant in Glen Ellyn kicks off a series of hands-on cooking classes Saturday, June 23, with the bright, exotic flavors of Caribbean Cuisine.

Waterleaf Executive Chef Jean-Louis Clerc will lead the class step by step through the preparation of Cod Fritters, Chicken and Coconut Colombo, Squash Gratin, Martine's Flambéed Bananas, Ti Punch and Colombo Spice Blend – specialties that will bring unique flair to summer menus at home.

Following the hands-on class, participants will enjoy the meal they prepared at a communal table in Waterleaf with specially selected paired wine (21 and over). In addition, participants will be provided with printed recipes and a special Waterleaf apron to take home

“Jean-Louis' passion and skill combine to produce innovative interpretations of cuisine that is both exotic and traditional,” said Jean Pierre Leroux, General Manager of Waterleaf and the Inn at Water's Edge. “Chef's experiences at Michelin-rated establishments in Europe, as well as his exposure to ethnic cuisines in the U.S. and the Caribbean, have resulted in the bold, exciting cuisine and cooking techniques participants will enjoy firsthand through these classes.”

The price of the Caribbean Cuisine cooking class is $85 per person. Reservations are required and places are limited. Please call (630) 942-6881 to book.
