Harper College seeks applicants following trustee’s resignation

Harper College Trustee Carlos Borro has resigned from his post, citing in his resignation letter health issues and family commitments to his aging parents. He had missed several regular monthly board meetings over the past year. Borro was serving as the Palatine community college’s student trustee in April 2008 when he was appointed a full board member to fill the seat of Patrick Botterman, a popular political strategist who died a month earlier. The following spring, Borro ran unopposed and was elected to a four-year seat. Harper is seeking applicants to fill the vacancy. Applicants must submit a resume and letter of intent by Wednesday, July 6. Interested parties must be 18 or older, a U.S. citizen and resident of Harper’s district for at least the past year.
