Links & Tees named a top 100 Golf Practice Facility
Links and Tees Golf Facility of Addison was recently honored by Golf Range Magazine as a Top 100 Golf Practice Facility for its fourth consecutive year. Links & Tees Golf Facility, led by golf facility manager Charles Sims, have made significant improvements each year to maintain this prestigious status since 2008.
In 2008, the Golf Dome, located at 880 W. Lake St., was replaced with a new and improved structure offering more warmth and creature comforts. Improvements to the dome include better lighting, turf maintenance, a new 2,700-square-foot chipping area, hanging targets and flat screen televisions located throughout the facility. The two-tiered, indoor heated golf dome is regarded by many as a “winter golf resort” for a large portion of Chicago area golf enthusiasts and professionals.
As a golf practice facility, Links & Tees offers a junior golf league, three-day junior golf camp, adult group golf classes and private golf lessons taught by nationally recognized PGA golf instructors.
Links & Tees Golf Facility is owned and operated by the Addison Park District. In addition to the golf dome, it encompasses a 3-par nine-hole golf course, an outdoor driving range, an 18-hole mini golf course and Putters Peak Clubhouse.
Continuous improvements to the entire golf facility have resulted in additional accolades including 2010 National Recreation and Parks Association/Professional Golfers Association Family Golf Facility Award and 2010 NRPA/PGA Sticks for Kids.
In recognition of these great achievements, golf facility manager, Charles Sims, was awarded the 2010 “Golf Facility Manager of the Year” by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association. This prestigious award recognizes the top manager in the state of Illinois which includes more than 450 park and recreation agencies for superior management practices, diverse program opportunities, fiscal responsibility and a true passion for the community that the individual serves.
The Addison Park District is committed to providing the highest quality recreational opportunities and open space for everyone. The 2010-11 Winter & Spring Fun Guide is available in print and online with a full curriculum of leisure activities for all ages and lifestyles.
