Life Saving Health Screenings Comes to South Elgin

Residents living in and around the South Elgin community can be screened using a painless ultrasound (sonogram) for strokes, abdominal aortic aneurysm and for osteoporosis through Life Line Screening. The complete screening package now includes a new Heart Rhythm screening, checking for irregular heartbeat, which is a major risk factor for stroke. Life Line Screening has screened over 6 million participants since 1993 and is partnered with hospitals across the country. These screenings can save a life, as they did for a South Elgin Lion who participated in the 2009 screenings hosted by this Club.

A stroke, also known as a “brain attack,” is ranked as the third leading killer in the world and 80% of strokes can be prevented. These screenings are fast, painless and affordable. They help identify potential health problems such as blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which is a strong predictor of heart disease.

The South Elgin Lions Club is pleased to host this event presented by Life Line Screening on Wednesday, January 25th at the Lions Club at 500 Fulton in South Elgin. Pre-registration is required for all screenings. The Stroke/Carotid Artery, Heart Rhythm, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Peripheral Arterial Disease and the Osteoporosis Risk Assessment screening package is only $149 for all five tests. A savings of $126. Individual tests are available upon request.

For more information regarding the screenings or to schedule an appointment, call 1-800-324-1851 or go to www.lifelinescreening.com/community-partners. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lion Ray Eaton at 847-888-9575 or Life Line Screening at the number above.
