Allured Business Media Donates $800 to Needy Seniors in Humanitarian Service Project's Program

Allured Business Media, 336 Gundersen Drive Suite A, Carol Stream, IL 60188-2403, donated $800 to the Humanitarian Service Project's (HSP) Senior Citizen Project.

The company has been a global information leader in the cosmetic, spa and salon, and fragrance and flavor industries for more than 80 years. Allured publishes several magazines and websites focused on specific industries and distributes various e-newsletters to accompany these publications. Janet Ludwig, Allured Business Media's president, said “In this country, senior citizens are overlooked and ignored. We wanted to help since HSP's program provides such vital support for so many impovershed seniors.”

The Humanitarian Service Project is a Four Star-rated charity located in Carol Stream with a number of programs that serve needy children, seniors and families in DuPage and Kane counties. Karole Kettering, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Service Project, said, “We are thrilled to have a great partner in Allured Business Media to help alleviate the stress and suffering of needy seniors in our area.”

Allured's generous donation will be used to sponsor a low-income senior in the Senior Citizen Project, which delivers 90 lbs. of groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of frozen meats, personal care items and paper products to each of the 120 senior citizens in the charity's Senior Citizens Project. The seniors also receive a monthly “Secret Pal” gift and a monthly Holiday Meal.

About The Humanitarian Service Project

HSP is given the highest honor charity by Charity Navigator for the seventh consecutive year. HSP's mission is to alleviate the pain and suffering that poverty creates in seniors and children living in DuPage and Kane counties, Illinois. Last year during the Christmas Offering, 1,264 children received gifts and 150 impoverished families received three weeks of groceries, frozen meats, and fresh produce. With the Senior Citizen Project, HSP provides a monthly food delivery and secret pal gifts to 120 low-income seniors. The Children's Birthday Project reaches the youngest underprivileged, making birthdays and Christmas truly memorable occasions for 700 children. Feed the Kids provides low-income families with groceries and fresh produce. HSP conducts an annual school supplies drive, which sends supplies to the DuPage Back to School Fair in addition to furnishing schools and individual children with necessary supplies.
