Prospect produces against Hersey
Brooke Wilson, Hannah Getschman and Katrina Leeney delivered a 2-3-4 finish to help Prospect past Hersey 24-33 in a Mid-Suburban East girls cross country dual on Thursday at Prospect.
Rachel Henk was sixth and Sarah Busby ninth for the Knights.
The top finisher was Hersey freshman Hailey Bowes, who completed the course in 19:55. Senior Maddie Lipowski added a fifth-place effort for the Huskies.
타 Buffalo Grove d. Rolling Meadows: Sophomore Kaitlyn Ko took top honors to help Buffalo Grove edge Rolling Meadows 27-30.
The Mustangs got a 2-3-4 placement from Vanessa Sanchez, Gabriela Sanchez and Sara O’Malley, but the Bison had runners in places five through nine.
Ko finished in 18:42.
타 Palatine d. Barrington: Palatine’s Sabina Yosif, Cassidy McPerson and Jessica Lincoln went 1-2-3 in a pack to help the host Pirates past Barrington 19-40 at Deer Grove East.
Lauren Cropsey had the top finish for the Fillies, taking fourth in 18:56, about nine seconds behind Yosif.
타 Wheeling d. Elk Grove: Marta Dzundza, Aurora Mala and Haley Dammeier led the way with a 1-2-3 finish as the Wildcats earned a 23-33 decision.
Dzundza finished in 20:48, and Anabelen Figueroa placed sixth for Wheeling.
타 Hoffman Estates d. Fremd: Senior Natasha Subbarao led an impressive effort for the Hawks, winning in 21:27 at Barrington Ponds as Hoffman Estates had the top nine finishers.
