Jacobs 5, South Elgin 0: The Golden Eagles’ Cassidy Sherman earned a hat-trick with 3 goals and goalkeeper Alyssa Koeppler had as many saves as Jacobs (1-1) quieted the Storm in Algonquin. Erin Flores also notched 2 assists for Jacobs, which scored 4 second-half goals as South Elgin (1-1) struggled defensively after halftime.

Elgin Academy 5, Kirkland 1: Ashley Barnes scored 4 goals for Elgin Academy and helped the Hilltoppers cruise to a 5-1 victory over Kirkland. Mary Snell made 7 saves in net.

Hersey 3, Cary-Grove 0: The Trojans (0-1) trailed by a goal at the half but Hersey managed 2 more goals in the second half to spoil Cary-Grove’s first game of the season. Trojans’ goalkeeper Paige Lincicum had 6 saves.

Glenbard East 3, Streamwood 1: Kim Jimenez scored a goal off a Hannah McGlone pass in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to catch Glenbard East, which led 2-0 at halftime. Streamwood (0-2) did get 6 saves from Bri Roppo.
