Barth, Libertyville handle Carmel

Libertyville junior guard Ryan Barth didn't score in the opening quarter against Carmel on Tuesday night.

He was plenty busy filling up the basket over the final three quarters, however.

Barth scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Wildcats to a 77-43 win over the visiting Corsairs in a nonconference game.

Libertyville (11-9) also received 17 points from Billy Meyer and 15 from Ellis Matthews.

Carmel (9-13) was led in scoring by Jonathan Huisel with 16 points.

Mundelein 70, Grant 52: Ryan Sawvell led three Mustangs in double figures with 19 points.

Ben Brust and Robert Knar added 15 and 10 points, respectively, for Mundelein (16-11), which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Grant (7-13) received double-figure scoring from Shane Richardson (14 points) and Jerry Gaylor (11).
