Jackie Shioli had 5 kills and Rachel Roth contributed 8 digs and 4 kills Thursday night as the Elgin girls volleyball team defeated South Elgin 25-21, 25-19 in an Upstate Eight Conference crossover match.

Bri Hamilton added 2 aces, 2 kills and 2 blocks for the Maroons (5-23) and Tanya Welch had 12 assists and 5 digs.

Allison Osborne had 4 kills and Corbin Kehe 12 assists for South Elgin (7-15-1). Maggie Jakaitis added 9 digs.

Burlington Central d. North Boone: Sydney Sand had 5 kills, 5 digs and was 7 of 7 on serve receive, and Hayley Brake added 5 kills and 2 blocks to lead the Rockets (18-10, 7-1) to a 25-15, 25-11 Big Northern East win. Samantha Bohne (15 digs), Allie O’Reilly (18 assists, 4 digs), Stephanie Sipinski (9 digs, 3 aces) and Hannah Yoder (4 kills, 2 blocks) also contributed for BC.

CL South d. Dundee-Crown: Lauren Lococo and Rebekah Hischke each had 4 kills for Dundee-Crown in a 25-21, 25-12 Fox Valley (Valley) loss. Cari Eischer had 12 kills, while Cassie Sommers added 7 digs and Carlin Faulkner 5 digs for the Chargers (4-19, 0-10).

Elgin Academy d. Mooseheart: Bridge Keslinke had 11 kills and 8 digs and Claire Fluegel added 9 kills and 5 digs to lead the Hilltoppers (12-11) to a 25-18, 25-21 nonconference win. Angie Martinez added 3 kills, 5 digs and 21 assists for EA.

Somonauk d. Westminster Christian: Cara Tyrell had 16 kills and Claire Spiewek added 7 kills and 5 digs for Westminster in a 25-19, 20-25, 25-23 nonconference loss. Whitney Vanden Bos added 17 digs and Elizabeth Farwell had 31 assists for the Warriors (14-8).
