‘It celebrates our heritage’: Downtown Libertyville listed on National Register of Historic Places

A national designation is being heralded in Libertyville as another means to protect and enhance the historic character of the downtown area. Village officials recently were notified by the National Park Service that the downtown historic district has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Mount Prospect relaunches downtown alfresco dining on Prospect Avenue

This weekend begins the second year of Mount Prospect’s alfresco dining program on Prospect Avenue, just south of the Metra commuter tracks. Once again, six on-street parking spaces will be converted into a protected outdoor dining area in front of the Lady Dahlia Tequila Bar, 127 W. Prospect Ave., and the Patina Wine Bar, 133 W. Prospect Ave.

Developer releases plans for vacant property along Route 83 in Long Grove

A developer has released design plans for a 15-acre parcel of vacant land at the intersection of Routes 83 and 53 in Long Grove. The land includes property already targeted for a QuikTrip gas station at the intersection.
