Get tips on 'Getting the Most Out of Internet Archive' June 11

The McHenry County Illinois Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at The Pointe, 5650 Northwest Hwy. in Crystal Lake. The program will be "Getting the Most Out of Internet Archive" by Kristen McCallum.

The Internet Archive has a lot to offer genealogists, but it isn't always easy to find what you're looking for.

Learn how to use this site to resurrect old websites, browse census records and passenger lists, and search county histories.

McCallum is a librarian specializing in genealogy at the Algonquin Area Public Library, where she teaches classes, assists researchers, and selects materials for the collection. She holds a master's degree in library and information science and is committed to the creative use of technology to help people find and share information. She also serves on the board of the McHenry County Illinois Genealogical Society and maintains the website.
