MCC offering free tickets to hoops games
McHenry County College Athletics invites all community nonprofit adult and youth groups to attend any 2008-2009 men's and/or women's basketball games free of charge beginning with the first home game on Nov. 5 for men's and Nov. 13 for women's.
This invitation is extended to all schools, sports teams, cheerleading/pom pon/dance squads, scout groups, clubs, community service agencies or organizations and booster clubs.
"Nonprofit groups can enjoy exciting, fast-paced, competitive men's and women's college basketball, close to home, with no admission charges," said Wally Reynolds, MCC director of athletics. "Both the MCC men's Fighting Scots and women's Lady Scots teams have been nationally ranked in the past."
In addition, youth basketball teams, cheerleading/pom/dance squads, martial arts programs, bands or other performance-based groups or acts may request to perform at halftime or during pre-game activities. An advance request and preapproval are required.
Parents/family members on the preapproved pass list, arriving with invited group members, will also be admitted free.
