Cary-Grove 61, Belvidere 29: The Trojans (12-0) used a balanced scoring attack as every player on their bench scored at least 2 points to pick up an easy victory over Belvidere in the Lady Mustang Tournament at Mundelein.
Claire Jakubicek and Liz Bart each turned in double-digit scoring efforts with 14 and 12 points, respectively. The Trojans, though suffered a loss when starting guard Meg Straumann went down with a knee injury early in the game and didn't return. Cary-Grove coach Rod Saffert said Straumann will be seen by a doctor today.
Streamwood 38, Rolling Meadows 37: The Sabres (4-6) were up by 6 points heading into the final quarter and hung on to win a tight matchup over Rolling Meadows in the Lady Mustangs Tournament at Mundelein. Emma Schmidt (11 points) and Michelle Tomczak (10 points) each recorded double-digits for the Sabres.
Hersey 69, Elgin 19: The Maroons (1-11) were unable to get the offense going as they were downed by Hersey at the Wheaton North Tournament. Brandi Hernandez led the Maroons with 5 points.
Bartlett 60, West Chicago 47: Christina Carlson poured in 23 points and added 9 rebounds as the Hawks (8-4) defeated West Chicago in a nonconference matchup. Jacki Gulczynski also added 9 rebounds to go along with her 12 points.
Crystal Lake South 45, Richmond-Burton 29: The Gators started off strong and never looked back as they cruised to an easy victory over Richmond-Burton at the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic. Michelle Gaede paced the Gators with 13 points while Lauren Chrystal also turned in a double-digit performance with 10 points.
Crystal Lake South 41, Round Lake 20: In their second game of the day at the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic, the Gators (8-7) held Round Lake to just 20 points en route to a victory. Jenny Hanrahan recorded 14 points for the Gators and Michelle Gaede chipped in 10 points.
Prairie Ridge 54, Huntley 37: The Red Raiders (4-6) fell behind early and could never recover as they were defeated by Prairie Ridge in the Lady Mustang Tournament at Mundelein. CeCe Tsevas was Huntley's high scorer with 8 points.
Immaculate Conception 46, St. Edward 42: The Green Wave (6-5, 1-4) was down 9 points at halftime and came up just short in the second half as they fell to Immaculate Conception in this Suburban Christian Conference (Blue) Division matchup. Alexandria Lee (11 points), Callie Johnson (10 points), and Vincenza Ranallo (10 points) all led the Green Wave with double-digit scoring efforts.
