Friday's Fox Valley roundup

Drew Buddle was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and Chris Ciccone was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and 3 RBI as the South Elgin baseball team rolled to an 11-0 Upstate Eight Conference baseball win over Elgin Friday.

Kyle Kinyon was 2-for-4 with a double and Anthony Keaty went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI for the Storm (11-10-1, 8-8-1), who pounded out 16 hits.

Sophomore Kenny Lowden pitched a complete-game shutout in his varsity debut for South Elgin, striking out eight and allowing just 4 hits.

Mike Stachowiak (0-4) suffered the loss for Elgin (1-19, 1-14).

St. Charles North 11, Streamwood 1: St. Charles North lit up Streamwood's Mike Diebold for 8 earned runs in 12/3 innings in this Upstate Eight game. The Sabres fell to 12-9-2 overall and 10-5 in the UEC with the loss.

Burlington Central 5, Stillman Valley 1: Dustin Jarvis went 4-for-4 with a triple, double and an RBI and Tanner Scott had a triple and an RBI as the Rockets (14-6) won in a Big Northern crossover. Nick Hahn threw a complete-game 1-hitter for BC. Drew Stover added 2 hits for the Rockets.

CL South 5, Jacobs 1: Easton Kowalski scattered 4 hits with 7 strikeouts as Crystal Lake South (15-9, 3-3) won in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division. Ian Gardeck had a home run for the Gators while James Vazquez doubled.

Hampshire 11, Winnebago 1: Zach Crinigan was 4-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI and Tyler Bentley had 2 doubles and an RBI to lead Hampshire (15-10) to a Big Northern crossover win. Ryan Meyer (1-2) allowed just 4 hits and struck out four to gain the win.

Cary-Grove 7, Dundee-Crown 5: Corey Bruns picked up the win for Cary-Grove in the FVC Valley. Willy Larsen was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Dundee-Crown (4-16, 1-5) and Brenden Schumaker 2-for-3 with an RBI. Zach Vodika suffered the loss for D-C.

Westminster 5, Marian Central 2: Ryan Perez scattered 7 hits and had a double to lead Westminster (20-7) to a nonconference win. Brandon Weingardener was 2-for-4 for the Warriors.
