Irish music, dance to take center stage in free concert

A special concert of Irish music and dance will be featured at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the McHenry County College conference center, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The musicians include Pat Gaughan and L.J. Slavin who will perform favorite Irish songs, ballads and instrumental tunes. The McNulty Irish Dancers will perform traditional Irish jigs, reels and hornpipes, both in soft shoe and hard shoe.

Pat Gaughan and L.J. Slavin, have collaborated their musical talents for the past five years, presenting programs of traditional Irish music, folk and original compositions.

The McNulty Irish Dancers have been performing for 21 years for events and groups including the Chicago Bulls, Notre Dame University, Miscericordia, the St. Baldric's Society, Naperville Ribfest, Chicago's Gaelic Fest, Galena's Strawberry Festival, and Chicago's St. Patrick's Day Parade, among many others.
