Villa Park robbery arrest:

Villa Park police this week announced the arrest of Jonathon R. Lapso, 19, of 407 N. Second St., Villa Park. Authorities said he was arrested Nov. 12 and later charged with robbery, battery and possession of cannabis. He is one suspect in an alleged three-man robbery and assault of a restaurant delivery driver Nov. 8 on the 300 block of North Illinois Avenue. He also is a suspect in several other burglaries that are under investigation, police said.

Forest preserve grant:

The DuPage County Forest Preserve District received a $6,900 grant this fall from Comcast Foundation. The two organizations teamed last spring for Comcast Cares Day, when many Comcast employees, their families and friends volunteered to clean up St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville. In addition to the man-hours, Comcast donated the grant from its foundation to help fund additional conservation, education and recreation programs.

Addison Trail phys ed grant:

Addison Trail High School received a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program to support the school's physical education program. The funds will be used to purchase heart-rate monitors and other classroom equipment that advances the department's goal to increase students' cardiovascular fitness levels and awareness. Krage's Mobil Servicenter in Addison worked with department chair Paul Parpet to secure the grant, which is one of 4,000 available to schools across the country, served by Exxon or Mobil stations.
