Wheaton's Gary UMC to host CROP Walk May 7
Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is organizing for its annual CROP Walk on Sunday, May 7.
The church invites the community to walk, volunteer and/or donate to this event that raises funds for and awareness of the ever-present food insecurity issues in Du Page County and around the world.
CROP Walk funds also support Wheaton and Glen Ellyn food pantries to provide for families and children in local school districts.
If you would like to help with the planning, register at garychurch.org, and meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 20, at the church, 224 N. Main St.
The goal is for Gary Church to welcome at least 200 people from 10 Glen Ellyn/Wheaton churches to walk for the fight against hunger locally and globally.
The 3-mile walk will start at 2 p.m. and end at Gary Church. You can register to walk, volunteer and provide funds through garychurch.org.
The church offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 224 N. Main St.
The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. The 11 a.m. Service of Word & Sacrament is an intimate and informal service. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend" and Sunday school for all ages.
With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. For more information, go to garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
