Main Stay Therapeutic Farm's gala voted one of the best fundraising events in McHenry County

Main Stay Therapeutic Farm in Richmond received recognition for hosting "One of the Best Fundraising Events by a Non-Profit" in this year's McHenry County Best of the Fox Reader's Choice Awards.

The "Come Together" gala was held on June 23, 2022 and brought members of the community to the farm to celebrate Main Stay's 35th anniversary.

The sold-out fundraising event took place on Main Stay's 40-acre farm which is in a protected easement with The Land Conservancy of McHenry County.

Guests enjoyed an evening of food and spirits, as they immersed themselves in the summer time scenery of Main Stay's oak savannah and views of Glacial Park.

The night also included live entertainment, a silent auction, paddle raise, and wine pull.

Main Stay's Triple Crown Raffle drawing also took place that evening. One lucky guest won a Hawaiian getaway which included a seven-night stay at a beachfront condo in Honolulu, Hawaii, airfare for two, transportation to and from their local airport, and a $1,000 spending card.

It was a record-breaking event for Main Stay and raised more than $150,000.

Main Stay Therapeutic Farm's mission is to enrich mind, body and spirit through powerful connections with horses, animals and nature. Main Stay accomplishes its mission through its adaptive riding and horsemanship, animal-assisted learning and adaptive gardening programs. The farm is a safe and inclusive environment where everyone belongs and is seen for only their abilities rather than disabilities. In 2021, Main Stay served over 500 individuals facing physical, developmental, emotional and social challenges.
