Kinetic Dance Company raises $19,705 for Relay for Life of Bolingbrook

The Kinetic Dance Company in Bolingbrook joined with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Bolingbrook on June 4 to support and honor the many whose lives have been touched by cancer and raise funds to support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving work.

Kinetic Dance Company participates and performs annually for Relay For Life, but this year was particularly special because its dancers and their families walked (and danced) in support of their director, KimMarie Peterson, who was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Kinetic Dance Company's Relay for Life team, The KineDanCo Spirit, raised an astonishing $19,705 for cancer research, far surpassing their 2022 fundraising goal.

Their team includes 3 Grand Club members, raising over $1,000, 4 Gold Level members, raising over $1,500, and 1 All-Star Level member, raising over $2,500.

Over the past 17 years, The KineDanCo Spirit has raised close to $200,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The KineDanCo Spirit walked to celebrate survivors: Steve Jascewsky, Ed Jascewsky, Hannah Jahn, Jerry Schultz, KimMarie Peterson, Kim Transon, Grandma Brokaw, Carter Mitchell, Crystal Podjaski, and Carol Hendrichs.

A highlight of the event was the luminaria ceremony performance by the Kinetic Dance Company dancers, moving us to remember those who are near and dear to our hearts. It was an inspiring day to support all of the survivors and caregivers, as well as pay tribute to the ones who have lost their battle.
